In 1979, Gary Strand (CEO & Founder) first set foot on the African continent and immediately fell for its diverse culture, immeasurable wildlife and magnificent wilderness. For the next 5 years, he explored almost every corner of this fascinating continent before settling in Tanzania, founding a business and raising a family.

Our heritage in the world of luxury travel is second to none and we are incredibly proud to be one of the oldest family owned and managed companies in our field-a tradition that continues to grow.

Family is our USP-we have no time for corporate travel or philosophies that contradict our belief in exclusivity. Every member of our (growing) family shares a foothold in Africa, living and breathing the passion that sets us apart.
